   I moved into an apartment with a 2nd story balcony. And worried about my kids cat’s would jump off the railing after a bird. I also didn’t want the litter box in the apartment. So I added a cat door to the window next to the air conditioner. And used plexiglass on top of the air con sleeve to still let light in. I also added a vent so the warm air didn’t blow on the cats in the enclosure. I read the reviews and people said it wasn’t for outside and rusted fast. So I bought an out door sealer and spray coated before assembling it.

   I didn’t like the top part so I made it a bit shorter to use the side panels as the top. Kinda difficult to assemble but I’m pretty short so I just had a hard time at the top. My main coon mix is also a bit heavy for the panels to sit on so I re-enforced them with extra zip ties and little metal panels. But for a lighter weight cat this would be great.

   I happened across this while trying come up with a way to keep our new brave kitten away from our dogs until he got bigger. I'm so glad that I got this. Other than the directions not being completely informative, it really wasn't that bad to assemble. Once you get started, it's pretty easy to figure out. The zip ties were a real pain in the behind. Would have been more visably pleasing to the eye if they were black like the cage instead of a frosty white but it is what it is. The kitten has lots of room and I loved that his cat tree fits inside. The cage, once fully assembled is pretty sturdy. Would have preferred a bottom to the cage but we just cut a piece of outdoor rug. He seems pretty happy and content in it. The clips for the doors are a little on the iffy side for keeping the doors secure. May have to be something I need to revise once he gets bigger. All in all, I'm very pleased with it.

   This will work best for an animal that is used to being confined, fairly easy to put together by one person.

   I know lots of other people didn’t like the set up, but you had to know going in that this is a bunch of metal frames that have to be connected and kitties are quite smart about fitting through small spaces. Overall, I like it and it works for me. I knew I was going to have to add a lot of zip ties, and I did. It is currently in the barn and holding 4 kittens (more than 4 weeks old), the momma, and uncle (who weighs in at 16 pounds) and it has contained them all. The door clips are a little unfriendly so I use Velcro. I took one reviewers advice and added a tie to the middle of each frame just to make sure uncle doesn’t push his way out. I also wanted it taller but the panels were $10 a piece so I ordered another brand of cube with the same size frames to add another level at a fraction of that cost. You just need to have enough frames to add support to the top of the cage so make sure to order a set with the correct size frames and more than 16 if you did a square set up.

   I have 3 indoor cats that I bought this for so they could go outside and be protected. The price for the item is a little pricy considering, but it does the job. It was pretty easy to assemble, but it's not as sturdy as I would have hoped.
