Mini Fish Tacos are a delicious and nutritious treat for cats. They are made with fresh salmon, which is rich in protein and omega-3 fatty acids that support your cat’s skin, coat, and immune system. They also contain catnip, which can stimulate your cat’s senses and make them happy.
1 8-inch whole wheat tortilla wrap (Check the ingredients list to ensure that there are no artificial sweeteners, which are toxic to pets)
1 Inaba Churu Tuna with Salmon Puree Cat Treat
2 oz. fresh, wild-caught salmon filet, cubed
1/4 teaspoon catnip
A small amount of extra-virgin olive oil
Optional: 1/4 teaspoon shredded Parmesan cheese (Feel free to omit if your cat has dietary restrictions)
Take your cubed salmon filet out of the fridge and dry with a paper towel a few minutes before cooking, so it may reach room temperature. Heat a pan over medium-high heat (about 400 degrees Fahrenheit) and add a thin layer of extra-virgin olive oil.
Place the fish in the pan, cooking for 5 to 7 minutes on each side. (It’s cooked through when the fish flakes easily with a fork.)
After removing from the pan, allow the salmon to rest for about 3 minutes before chopping into kitty-bite-sized pieces. You’ll need two teaspoons of chopped salmon.
Using a 2-inch round cookie cutter, cut two rounds from the tortilla. Toss the scraps.
Spread 1/4 to 1/2 half of the Inaba Churu Tuna with Salmon Puree Cat Treat evenly over the two mini tortillas.
Top each taco with 1 teaspoon chopped, cooked and cooled salmon, 1/8 teaspoon parmesan and 1/8 teaspoon catnip. Serve immediately or refrigerate.
