It's priced a little high in my view as it's just cardboard. Hopefully it will last a while so i don't have to buy a new one anytime soon. Seems to be holding up well so far.
The main Pro is that BOTH scratch areas inside AND outside can be utilized by the kitties, unlike some of the similar shaped high end pricey elliptical cat scratchers. A lot of them squeeze in too much in the middle, so my cats never used all the scratchable cardboard in there and it was wasted or had to be cut apart and looked ugly. THIS HOWEVER, this is more round and often I will have two of my four cats scratching simultaneously, one on top, one on the bottom on the inside.
This leads to the one Con, which is fixable: because of that more round shape than infinity-esque shape of a few other scratchers, the scratcher can tip over easily. At first I was really annoyed, but the cats liked it so I wanted to figure out a workaround. I crammed it, as you can see in the photo with model Laretta Kincaid, into another box to stabilize it. Then I cut an entry way so they could get in and enjoy the middle (lower) scratch area. The result is stability and a bi-level scratcher they use often, especially with catnip (which a small amount is included).
I love it and adding the extra box really doesnt take up any extra room. I can recommend this wholeheartedly if you want to take an extra ten minutes to set it up properly.
My cats love it... One of my poor babies is just way too big..?.
