We needed a barrier for our dog, something easy to fold and move. It had to be quite wide, because it wasn't going across a standard doorway, and it had to be freestanding, because wasn't going between walls where we could attach it. We didn't want to pay a couple hundred dollars for something fancy. This meets all the criteria, and it is simple and nice-looking. However, it's only 24" tall. Our dog could jump over it, but she hasn't figured that out, and with luck she never will. If the company offered a taller version we would snap it up, because it really is just right in every other way.

Bought to protect my tree and gifts from our family dog. It is sturdy and a nice color. It was a little hard to maneuver. It doesn't make a clean half circle around the tree. Some of the "joint" areas don't bend out, but bend inwards. It's a bit of a zig zag pattern. I wish it came in a longer size for that reason. I'll use it to stop my dog from going upstairs afterwards.

This is a very nice little gate to keep the dogs in or out. I have very small dogs, so it won't exactly keep them confined, but will keep them out of the rooms I don't want them in. They could jump over if they were determined, but it does exactly what I need it to do. It would not be appropriate to keep small children or babies from falling down the stairs or keep them confined, but it it just enough to keep my little beasts where I need them to be.

I got two of these one in the 4 foot variety and one in the 6 foot. If you can afford it go 6 foot if your opening is greater than 40". If you have something that can anchor it, it works even better. They are not super heavy, meaning they can be pushed if you not set right (you get to be an engineer). I actually took two latches for my 4 foot one and attached it so that my extremely smart Maltese could not get through. My other opening it fits better because it is 48" and I got the 6 foot so there is more room to zig zag and get some strength.

It is quite sturdy but the finishing leaves much to be desired- poor sanding and poor, runny paint job. Not pride in workmanship- what a shame.

I have an older dog with a back problem that shouldn't be climbing the stairs. I put these at the base of the stairs and it worked well there. I tried blocking another area that didn't have something up against the back of it and the dogs were able to just move it out of their way

I got this to contain my dog during the night to one room. I was worried about the height, so if your dog shoves open things or jumps over, I wouldn't get this, but it works good for my 25 lb dog.

I have a dog that doesn't try to get around gates, so these work really well to keep her away from the cat litter boxes but allow me to move around so the cats can get around or through them. Cats cannot get through the bars! I didn't want them to be able to squeeze through the bars.
I'll also use them in the camper to confine the dog instead of crating her. They are very light and easy to move around.

Bought this to keep my english cocker spaniel in the ceramic tile area at night. The color is great, the gate opens and closes easily and it's easy enough to hide on the side of the couch. Height is perfect for our apartment, my dog can't jump over it. Please keep in mind he's 7, so he's not as agile as a puppy that might be able to make it over with enough energy. My only gripe is that it's not the most sturdy. it needs to be accordioned out to keep some balance and I need to place it up against something at both ends. if you're going to buy this, I recommend buying the stabilizers.

Great means of blocking off areas of the house from the dogs. I am also going to test it out on the porch as well but so far I think this is a great buy for the price. I didn’t have issues with mold or broken slates. I can easily see why mold would form on this barrier though. It is a soft wood so if they don’t wait to let the stain fully dry before apply the poly coat and bagging it up, there is a big chance you will get mold growth on the outside of the wood. I would suggest wiping it down with a damp bleach cloth anyways, but if you do see a powdery film use a bleach rag to remove it and let it sit in a nice dry place and check to see if it grows back. If not you got it all, if it does come back than it has most likely penetrated into the wood so I would send it back to have it replaced or to get a refund.
