After assembling the tree it became obvious that my kittens had one goal, to destroy it. Over the last few months they have spent countless hours attacking it, leaping onto it, catapulting off of it. When they weren't beating and scratching it like it owed them money, they enjoyed napping 6 feet off the ground, looking down on those that feed them and clean up their excrement.

While they are slowly but surely succeeding in it's destruction, I am able to appreciate the fact that the cat tree is the target of their ire, and no longer our couch.

We got this for our 2 boys about 2 years ago now and they still use it and love it!! I just wish I could get replacement poles as my boys have torn it up!! Otherwise it's been great!! My 1 boy is about 13lbs and he's always on the top level!! My other boy is at least 20lbs and he shakes the entire tower getting up and down but that's due to his weight!! 2 years of use and I have had to replace the tisal rope and reglue the rope but I only need to replace 2 of the poles on it now due to over use of the scratching poles!!

No instructions but there were pictures. My cats couldn't wait to explore their tree & were climbing all over it before it was completely assembled. They LOVE it! They fight over the top 3 platforms all the time. It seems to be pretty sturdy but I did put it in the corner against the wall just to be safe. My cats have major zoomies & when they'd jump up on their old tree it would almost fall over every time.

This tree is TALL! I didn't realize it was 72 inches tall! But my fur babes love it & I got it at a great pric.

    The carpeting is very soft.

The condos (2 of them with the one I got) are quite large & have many holes to climb through.

There's 3 platforms at the top & 2 in between the top & bottom.

2 sets of stairs - so far my cats haven't used them.

There is a cat toy on a bungee that hangs off of one of the top platforms - no issues with this at all so far. So if people are gonna complain about that feature just cut it off. No need to complain about it.

There's lots of scratching posts throughout the tree.

All in all this is a great car tree for multiple cats.

Bought this for my 2 cats just over a year ago, and they have been on it every day since. They don't use the boxes as often as the high platforms, but the boxes easily fit their 9 and 11+ lb (4 & 5+ kg) frames.

    Pros:
    A LOT of fun.
Easy to build (just watch the length of the posts)
    Easy to vacuum
Big enough to fit several cats, probably at least 15 lbs/ 7 kg in the boxes.
Sturdy for a 6 ft tall tower (if you don't move it, I'd suggest a single bracket for the wall).
Easily survives 2 active cats (and up to 5 foster kittens) at a time.

    Cons:
You occasionally need to either turn the posts tighter or tighten the bolts, once every few months.
Hanging toy may not survive (ours stays on by a thin thread, but he uses it often).
You may need to restaple the sisal rope, but again, after a year of frequent use.

Definitely a great value, I wish I had room for a 2nd one to keep them even happier.

It's not me, it's my cats that have the final say, and they love it! It is very sturdy and relatively easy to put together. Those who say it is not sturdy probably did not take the time to systematically assemble it and assure that all parts were adequately tightened. To date, I have assembled 3 of these for myself and for friends. The key is to first sort the parts and then follow the instructions one step at a time. The instructions could be done in better visual detail, but otherwise are not that difficult. I love that there are so many sisal scratching posts to keep the cats happy and not scratching furniture. I don't expect to need to replace this cat tower for several years, so it will definitely save money in the long run.

We have had this cat tree for almost 2 years now. We have 4 cats, 3 of which are quite large.

We did have to tighten the bolts every few months otherwise it can get wobbly up top. The ladders were cute when they were kittens but neither one will actually stay in place. We ended up taking the ladders off once the cats were big enough to jump to the platforms.

After 2 years the cat tree is still standing! It has gotten extremely loose though despite several tightening sessions. We do have cats between 11-20 lbs though so the wear and tear is to be expected. The price is amazing, we are going to buy a 2nd one and start to phase out the older one.

This is my second purchase of one of these. The first, a few years ago, was so well used (ie - ripped to literal shreds) that we needed to replace it. The last time, I ordered dark brown. This one was $20 cheaper, so I went with this one. They were VERY DIFFERENT qualities for the "same" item.

When the brown unit came in a few years ago, I was immediately aggravated, because the rope that is supposed to be on all posts was only on a couple. I ended up having to redo them myself. This one has the rope as intended on all posts.

The other thing to note is that the two "houses" on the unit are MUCH BETTER than the ones on the brown unit. The brown unit was basically some collapsible tops and bottoms with tent type material on them. These are actual boxes.

The beige unit is also the tiniest bit taller than the brown.

Took me less than 30 minutes to assemble and the cats were all over it in less than 5 minutes when I put it in place. They've been playing on it and sleeping on it from day one. I did remove the hanging mouse as one of my cats got his claw stuck in it and tried to run, and when he got his claw out, the mouse ricocheted and could have taken out one of his eyes. It snapped pretty violently. I didn't buy this for the mouse anyway, so don't care. Pulled the mouse off, cut the elastic off and gave them back the mouse to play with. I have a cat that is 15+ pounds and he gets up and down easily and sleeps up on top. It is quite sturdy so long as you assemble it correctly tighten everything. I will check to see if anything loosens up after a week. It's been four days and so far, so good!

I, a 51 year old, assembled this by myself. As previously mentioned it is picture instructions but I had no trouble following them. I measured the pieces and wrote them in pencil on the underside of each flat piece since the sizes are on the instruction sheet. This made the process faster to complete without making an error and having to disassemble and reassemble pieces, especially the parts to the enclosure/sleeping boxes. Unlike others, my mouse toy attachment is still on the tree. My 4 cats only slapped it @ a few times & moved on. They're more obsessed with watching the birds outside that move than a fake mouse. Lol, smart cats. They love the sisal rope on it & use that often. Also previously mentioned in the comments, the tree does shed the carpet fibers, however it is soft so for my babies it's worth sweeping a few fibers here snd there. I have it in a corner and have had no issues at all with instability or tipping. I believe having it on a hard floor in a corner is the difference between happy cats and a catastrophe. Also, without overtightening/stripping, I made sure to tighten it very tight once it was completely assembled. Do not tighten each piece as you go because you need 'give' room or to be able to maneuver certain pieces, particularly the box houses, before tightening. Make tightening all pieces the very last thing you do...trust me, you'll be glad you did. Overall, we love this cat tree & I would repurchase again if available when this one wears out. I purchased this two and a half months ago.

It was completely assembled in less than 10 minutes. Every piece was precisely cut and drilled...no surprises! Big plus, my cat loved it from the start, climbing to the top so he has easy access to a window where he looks out at the squirrels and birds. He also used it spontaneously to climb back down, instead of jumping onto my work desk! It's just over 6 feet tall, and it is STURDY. No shakes or instability when he's climbing. Only suggestion for improvement, would be to add a hole in the ceiling of the lower box, for enabling access to the higher levels without having to jump up above to lower box. I may modify it when time permits. Overall, a very good buy. The price was much lower than what pet supply stores would charge, and THIS one is much better built, with materials that would appear to be longer-lasting. No need to look further. This is the one that gives the best value (in my opinion).

It took about an hour to assemble and came with relatively easy to read instructions. You do need to be a little bit mechanically inclined but not much. I decided to use a cordless drill when installing the little ladders, which made it a bit easier then trying to use the little screwdriver that they give you while working upside down. The materials are kind of flimsy but as long as you don’t have a 30lb cat, you should be fine. The structure as a whole is sturdy however the top tier does wobble a little bit. I put mine together last night and so far my kitty loves it. I bought it as an alternative to letting her outside all the time, because she recently had fleas and they were very difficult to get rid of. Now, when I go outside half the time she doesn’t even follow me because she just wants to stay in and play on her little kitty playground. She loves it!

Update: its been 15 months now and my kittens are adults, and this thing is still standing tall! They have beat this thing up and its never once tipped over or broken in anyway. It has wear and tear from their favorite scratching areas but is still holding up well.

I have 2 - 6 month old wild, rough crazy kittens. They have been up and down, in and out, just all over this thing. It's much sturdier than these reviews make it seem, if you put it together correctly. I feel it's important to use the ramps, some say it doesnt support the tree at all but it really does, if put on correctly. I'm actually really impressed with this thing. If you have a large cat, make sure you read the dimensions on everything, like the platforms up top for sleeping, to make sure he/she will fit.
I would totally recommend, in fact I already have 😊

2 1/2 Year update: It's still in one sturdy piece. My one cat that uses it goes up and down it wildly sometimes, which lead to the very top piece loosening and wobbling. Tightening the bolts back down remedied that and it's back to holding firm, so keep your included allen wrench handy, you may need it.

UPDATE: Nearing the 6 month mark and this thing is still holding up great. One cat could take it or leave it, but the one that likes it, she's constantly up and down it, and always roughly playing with the hanging mouse. The whole thing will sway a bit, but there isn't any give or structural damage to things like the support pillars. I'm guessing people who have issues didn't put it together properly (most likely over tightening and breaking the support post seals).

This cat tree is really sturdy surprisingly for its price. The instructions are simple diagrams Ikea style and easy to follow. A tool is included for the few spots you'll need it, but the areas attached to posts are pretty much tool-less.

I wouldn't recommend leaving the ramps off like some people are for a couple of reasons. First, ramps actually bolt onto the underside of the platform tightly, so the lower ramp helps provide extra stability to the tower like a kick stand. Second, while the cats don't "need it" to get up, mine certainly use them going down, specifically the upper ramp.

It took a bit for my two cats to get use to it. My younger cat was up in it immediately. She played with that hanging mouse for about 2 hours. The older cat didn't mess with it much at first, but he has taken to climbing up it now as well. Currently as I write this they're both sleeping up in it. :)

So yeah, definitely recommend. I don't know what the deal with some of these peoples' pictures is, if maybe humid climates are worse for it or something, but I can't see my cats causing that kind of damage to it.
