Cat Beds

What to Think About Before Purchasing a Cat Bed

“Cats have their own personal tastes. ” They enjoy soft and fuzzy objects, but they also like cardboard boxes, paper bags, and packing paper,” Van de Kieft observes. So think about where your cat prefers to nap and try to reproduce that in at least one of your cat beds. Remember that cats enjoy diversity.

Some cats prefer to slumber on softer, plusher textiles. As long as the bed is sturdy enough to avoid sinking, according to Van de Kieft. Depending on your cat’s preferences, look for a cat bed that is one to three inches thick. If the bed has an extra pillow or padding, you’ll get bonus points.

What Is The Best Way To Wash A Cat Bed?

Unless you’re the lucky owner of a hairless cat breed, your cat will shed fur. Washing a hair-covered cat bed might make the job more challenging. Furthermore, if you want to wash the bed in the washing machine, excessive cat fur can clog the machine and cause damage.

Before throwing the pet bed and its bedding in the washing machine or handwashing it, remove as much hair as possible. Remove as much hair from the bed as possible with a lint roller, pet hair roller, and vacuum cleaner.

When Should Cat Beds Be Laundered?

A cat bed should be washed at least once every 1 or 2 weeks in most situations. If your cat’s breed sheds more hair than the average, more frequent bathing can be a better alternative. If someone in the family has pet allergies, it’s also a good idea to wash your cat’s bed more frequently than usual.
